Change is possible. Change is constant though not always easy. Please know: You are Not alone! Let’s work on getting better control of your life and your emotions.

Hi, I’m Kathleen (she/her/hers) but most people call me, Kathy.

Do you feel like something needs to change? You’re finding yourself more irritable than usual. Do you find yourself questioning where you went wrong, when will things change or how did I get here? Whether you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one, there is help out there. Mental health support is essential care and you are worth it!

Let’s see if you are in the right place: Are you concerned about your child’s adjustment or development? Has a diagnosis or new health concern thrown you for a loop? Are you an exhausted and overwhelmed caregiver? Is parenthood not what you imagined? If you answered yes to any of those questions then let’s talk! I work with children, mothers, primary caregivers and adults.

A bit about me… I have been working in the social work field for almost 30 years in many different capacities including: maternal/child health, autism, developmental pediatrics, hospice and foster care. After working and practicing in the medical field for the past 20 years I am now spending the majority of my time in private practice.

I am originally from the South Suburbs of Chicago but have been living in Northern California the majority of my adult life. I have beautiful adult step-daughters and two equally beautiful daughters that I gave birth to. We have a small farm that occupies much of our free time when we are not doing something with music as a family. I am often heard saying, “the struggle is real,” because being a parent and a fully functioning adult can be hard! I am a working parent, a sister of a disabled adult, a partner, a friend, an advocate and a postpartum depression and anxiety survivor. I very much look forward to working with you and getting to know you better!

How it works

Ready to get started?

Contact me for a free 15 minute telephone consultation. We can discuss briefly what you are hoping to get out of therapy and I can share with you how my practice is designed. I offer both in office and home visits to help make therapy accessible to more people.

Home visits? How does that work? Whether you are a caregiver of a child or an adult, getting out of the house to address your own needs is not always easy. With me coming to your home or the residence where you are providing care you are able to work on your own mental health while addressing the safety and care needs of your loved one. Is there a time of the day when your child or loved one is napping or resting? Do you have a Behavioral Health Therapist coming to the home to work with your loved one for which you need to be present yet you are not part of the therapy? Those are all perfect times for us to meet in the comfort of your own home and work to meet your own unique mental health and care needs.
