Meet Kathleen (Kathy) Dawn Wasielewski (formerly Saenz), LCSW
You’re already stronger than you think you are.
If you are motivated to make positive change whether for just yourself or your family system
You’re in the right place.
The therapeutic environment should feel welcoming and calm. I provide that type of space either in office, in your own home or even if you prefer to “walk and talk” for therapy. Meeting with a therapist should be a judgement free zone and I strive to bring that approach to the therapy room just as I do in my own home. I look forward to welcoming you with an open heart and mind. My work experience has been in community and healthcare settings alongside providing individual and family therapy. I enjoy working with caregivers of many capacities. Much of my experience has been around maternal/child health, neurodiversity, health conditions and hospice care. I am passionate about the need to care for the caregiver. Caregivers are often overlooked, especially in the medical or mental health field, as much of the focus is on the “patient.” The fact is however that the “patient” is only as good and healthy as the caregiver and family/support system.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson Mandela
You may be wondering why there is a quote about education on a therapy website. Well, I see a big portion of therapy and change within ourselves is education. In therapy, I will help you learn about yourself and what makes you think, act or feel the way you do. Knowledge is power. The more we understand ourselves the more we can understand our relationships with those around us
Though this approach is not the totality of therapy, I have a strong psycho-educational approach with both children and adults.
As famous Author, Roald Dahl, says “somewhere inside of us is the power to change the world.” Let’s change Your world together!
My guiding principles
You are Not alone
They say it takes a Village for a reason. The human race thrives on relationships. Let’s strengthen yours with yourself and others!
No such thing as Normal
What is normal? There really is no such thing. Whether your differences are neurological or how you look, you are you and I honor you!
Self-care is Not Selfish
If you don’t fill your cup back up there is nothing left to share or give others!
A Relaxed State is the Best State
With a calm mind and body there is nothing that is too hard!
